MLK Day 2017

I can’t imagine a world where I couldn’t have my beautiful bi-racial children and a husband with skin that doesn’t match mine. On this and every day, I am eternally grateful for Martin Luther King Jr. for his major part in the Civil Rights Movement that would eventually allow our family to be whole. Life as a mixed family isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it.
I pray that the whole world can develop the eyes of a child and see all our diversity for the beauty that it is. I love the different color shades Jackson chose in this family portrait (age 4) and how he really spent time deciding what everyone looked like! Ohhh the sweetness just melts my heart!
We may not have matching skin, but, as you can see, we all have belly buttons. :)
